It's time to think about 2012! Crazy I know. The inaugural 2011 Charity Calendar gave the Pink Ladies Breast Cancer fundraising team the opportunity to raise at least $6000. The experience was amazing and full of lessons for me! Definitely fell under, "It's the journey, not the destination" But for the Pink Ladies, it was definitely the destination and the opportunity to do something new and unique.

So it's time to think about 2012 and who the Calendar should give the opportunity to benefit. If you have a suggestion, please contact the studio. The organization must be willing to put forth 100% to making the campaign a success. KCook Photography gives 100% of the talent to make it the calendar awesome and beautiful, the rest depends on the organization itself!

The first annual 2011 Support.Inform.Survive charity calendar for breast cancer research is about to go on sale.

October 1, the calendar will be available for you to purchase!

So, where can you purchase 1 or 10 or 100? Well, there are several ways. The calendar will be available at many business, we will post a list of each business in October. The other two ways are through one of the Pink Ladies, you can also go through their website. Or through Kelly (937-368-2404) at KCook Photography.

Calendars are only $15, so little but 100% of that will will go to the chairty!!!!!

Pre-sale of the calendars are also availabe RIGHT NOW! Pesonally, I'd go presale, these are going to go soooo fast!

Even though we have had some issues with Blogger (this website) changing the codes used for each child's donate button, we are still taking votes until Sunday July 4th, midnight.

I have to add, the only problem with the donate buttons has been broken codes for donating. The donations recieved have been credited to the correct child and as long as you recieved a confirmation email, your vote was recieved. All totals are correct.

Voting begins June 1st through June 30th. Each vote is $1 and you may vote as many times for as many children as you wish. All votes are tax deductible. Twelve winners will be announced July 6th. The 12 winners will receive a month in the 2011 Support. Inform. Survive Calendar. All money is raised for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The top winner with the most votes will also receive over $300 in prizes including a Signature session from KCook Photography for the child or family.

Since we are done with the model search it is time for the next step. This step takes the longest. Acutally there are two steps happening right now.

The first is sponsors. We need business and organizations who want to sponsor the calendar so that 100% of the sales CAN go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. You can contact either one of the Pink Ladies through their website or call the studio. Different levels are available.

Second is going through all the images of all 24 children and choosing ONE to put online for voting. This is time consuming and just plain difficult since over 200 images were taken and they were all ADORABLE!

Voting WILL begin June 1st! The link will not be available until then.

AND Lastly, KCook Photography has a new phone number. The new number is 937-368-2404. Only calls left at that number will be returned.

Our next Wings of Love model call is April 9th and April 10th. This is the last model call. If you did not register your little girl or boy for the opportunity to possibly be featured in the 2011 Support. Inform. Survive Charity Calendar, this is your last chance! Remember, we are raising money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Voting will begin in June for 2 weeks. YOU get to choose the top 12 children to be featured in the calendar! Each vote is $1 and every dollar raised will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The child that raises the most money will be featured on the front of the Calendar and win a gift basket.

To schedule your child's appointment, please call 937-308-0657. Appointment times are limited.

The Calendars will go on sale in October. Each family that has a child featured in the calendar will be able to pick up a one complimentary calendar at KCook Photography. Everyone knows someone

We all know someone who has been touched by cancer. Even my 9 year old daughter knows someone. Even if it's not breast cancer, all of us have a mom. We all are somehow at a risk of being touched by breast cancer. It's why I have a mammogram every year (now that I'm at that age, but had to even before that). It's why we want our daughters to live healthy lives. Whether we want to acknowledge it or not...it's out there. I'm not being pessimistic, I wear my rose colored glasses very well.

Just passing the event, the calendar, the fundraiser to FIVE people will make a huge difference. Join me on Facebook and send the event to your friends list, don't pre-judge, don't decide for someone else.
If you feel moved to support in a bigger way or don't have a child in the age required, we are also looking for sponsors. Minimum donations of $25 will be listed in the calendar.

First Model Call...

went great. BUT, we need more models! Your session fee (just $25) and the calendar sales (just $15), the voting for the 12 featured children (and top winner) goes 100% towards our fundraiser.

The next model call is March 26th and 27th at Pinky Scout. I will be posting a sample session. Due to the nature of the voting for the featured children, I can't post a live session...but watch for the THAT link in MAY so YOU can VOTE TOO. (Trust me, it's going to be HARD and I'm glad I don't have to be the one to decide!

Model Search begins!

March 5th and 6th at Center Stage Academy in Troy, 18 E. Canal St.

YES! Please call for your child's appointment time.

All children who are photographed at a model search and have donated the minimum $25 session fee toward the fundraiser, will be considered for the calendar.

How will that work? In June, ONE pose from EACH child's session will be placed online for voting. Each vote is $1 and ANYONE can vote! The most votes will be the cover and inside. The other 11 winners will be featured on a month.

So far I have a $300 prize basket for the child who's image collects the most votes.

The first model search held at Center Stage on March 5 & 6th has the WRONG ADDRESS!!

The correct address should be 18 E. Canal.

Also want to add, appointments are needed for these sessions. We won't turn away a walk in, but you will have to wait for an opening between the scheduled sessions. Also, the last session will be at 4:30. Since I have some wonderful ladies opening their business to this fundraiser, I don't want to take advantage of their generousity!

How the model search works...

I plan on getting this up as a pdf file, but for right now, here's how the Wings of Love model search will work.

1. Decide on your date
March 5th & 6th at Center Stage Dance Co
March 26th & 27 at Pink Scout
April 9th & 10th at KCook Photography

2. Call the studio at 937-308-0657 to schedule your session appointment.
You will be given a link for client information and a special event price list.

3. Bring your $25 session fee/donation with you to your child's scheduled session date and time. (The Pink Ladies are a 501c charitable organization)

4. Check in.

5. Your child's model search session will last about 20 minutes. All sessions will photographed in black and white.

6. View you child's images after your session. Limited Special Event pricing will be offered at this time. This will be the only chance you have to order at special event prices.

7. Towards the end of May, one pose from you child's model search session will be posted on a voting site. Friends, family, neighbors, co-workers will all have the opportunity to vote for your child. Complete "how to" will be emailed the end of May.

8. The child with the most votes will have their image on the cover and an inside month of the 2011 Support. Inform. Survive Calendar.

9. I am working on a prize package for the winning child...

10. Don't forget to order/pre-order you calendar. Pre-orders will be available starting in July (possibly sooner). Calendars will be available for purchase in October.

2011 Support. Inform. Survive Calender

Yes! That is the official title of the first annual On Wings of Love Charity Calender. I met with Jill, Colleen and Megan from The Pink Ladies yesterday. It was a productive meeting that put so much more in place to make this calender a success for supporting Breast Cancer Research.

Once the posters are put in place announcing the model search dates, they will fill very quickly. This is your chance to schedule early and secure a time for your 7 mos old to 7 year old. Both boys and girls are invited!

Remember, every session fee is a donation to the Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Fundraising group. The minimum donation for to be entered in the model search is $25. That is so little towards making a huge impact! Help us reach our goal!

My excitement just keep growing and growing. I will be working with the Pink Ladies of Troy on the calender. The calender will raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The calender will feature 12 children ages 7 mos to 7 years old. Keep checking back for more info on how this will work! It could be your child.

If you know anyone who has been touched by breast cancer, please help us by supporting this cause. Getting involved with the children's model search, donations, ordering your own calender, sponsoring the calender and sharing your story.
